Bhedsa Caves India:-The caves at Bhedsa 4 miles from Kamshet station belong to a slightly later period than those at Bhaja. The chaitya resembles the rear hall at Karla but is smaller. It has four pillars, each 25 feet high, with carvings of horses, bulls and elephants mounted by male and female riders. 26 octagonal pillars support its ribbed roof, 10 feet high. There are two important caves with many inscriptions. Few tourists visit the caves since they are located at a remote spot away from the line of communications.
70 kms away from Pune Bedsa caves are one of the most old in Maharashtra. These are 15 kms to the South of Kamshet railway station. The Trio kept incomplete by Karla and Bhedsa is completed by Bedsa. There is a village named Bedsa near the caves. These are at the south of Raut wadi. Though a very good place to visit is not very often crowded. The beauty of these caves is best viewed in the mornings. 

These caves are 1000 years old. There is a strange story told by villagers about these caves that - The details about the caves and the entire history of the caves was painted and carved on the walls of the cave. But it so happened that a Senior British Officer was to visit the caves, hence a local officer painted the entire caves and the details were lost behind the paint. The truth of this story is not yet known but still it is an interesting story to listen.

2) For Others above 15 years : US$ 5 or corresponding to Rs.250/- per head

By Air Nearest airport is Pune, 56 Kms.
By Rail Nearest railhead is Kamshet, 4 Kms. on Central Railway but the more convenient railhead is Lonavala, 10 Kms
By Road Bedsa is 114 kms. from Mumbai and 56 Kms from Pune on Mumbai - Pune road. State Transport buses ply from Mumbai, Pune to Lonavala and Lonavala to Bedsa.
